Dudley Buck (March 10, 1839 – October 6, 1909) was an American composer, organist, and writer on music. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he studied at the Leipzig Conservatory and later in Paris before returning to the United States. Buck held various positions as an organist in churches across the country and was known for his contributions to church music. He published several books, including the “Dictionary of Musical Terms” and "Influence of the Organ in History".


One of his notable compositions is "Twilight, Op. 92, No. 1", which is part of a set of pieces that showcase his lyrical and expressive style. This composition is characterized by its reflective and serene mood, capturing the essence of twilight.
