Ceramics Now Magazine - October 2026
Ceramics Now Magazine Issue 23 (October 2026) features Bianca MacPherson's work on the cover. Rooted in personal and collective histories, MacPherson's ceramic sculptures explore identity, perception, memory, and the experience of existing between worlds. Through abstraction, her forms move between recognition and ambiguity, inviting viewers to question how assumptions and histories shape what we see.
This issue brings together essays and reviews that reflect on transformation, material memory, and the connections between body, clay, and the natural world. Sarah Walko writes on Roxanne Jackson's Ovum at The Pit, Los Angeles, exploring a world of myth, birth, death, and metamorphosis. Cammi Climaco reviews the summer ceramics exhibitions at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, NY, while Anisio Veloso reflects on Edmund de Waal's rain diary exhibition at Gana Art Center, Seoul. Graham Feyl reviews E. Saffronia Downing's Call for Clay, a publication that brought together collected samples of wild clay and the personal stories attached to them. Beth Williamson writes on Aneta Regel's exhibition at Sarah Myerscough Gallery, tracing the visceral force of material, surface, and form.
This issue presents featured artists Bianca MacPherson, Deirdre McLoughlin, Steven Edwards, Anemoon On Fire, and Lydia SooJin Park.
