If you’ve been looking into moving to Thailand as a remote worker, you’ve probably come across the DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) — and you’ve probably also seen a lot of conflicting information about it.

Some people make it sound like a golden ticket.

Others say it’s pointless or impossible.

Most explanations online are either overly legal, outdated, or clearly written by someone who’s never actually lived here.

This guide is meant to cut through that.

This guide assumes you are a UK citizen and are applying at the London embassy. All details are tailored to UK citizens applying at the London embassy (even though the application is all done online on the Thai evisa portal). The content of this guide will still be useful, but other embassies have other rules / apply rules different so your mileage may vary, so to speak.
