Multi-Agent Systems Templates — 44 Copy-Paste Templates for Orchestration, Coordination, Shared Memory, Failure Recovery, Cost Control & Production Operations
## One agent is a tool. A team of agents is an organization — and organizations need working artifacts.
A single agent handles the pilot beautifully, then strains the moment the task gets big: too much context, no expertise boundaries, every step sequential, nobody checking the work. **Multi-Agent Systems Templates** is the design-and-operations layer that fixes that: 44 working templates organized the way a production agent team is actually built — decide whether a team is warranted at all, design how agents talk, organize them as a hierarchy or a swarm, divide the work into plans machines can execute, give the team one shared memory, survive the coordination failures, control the token bill, and run the whole thing securely in production.
Every template is copy-paste ready with the book's tested positions built in: the five-question fit decision run in order, cost compared per correct outcome rather than per call, strict message envelopes with tolerant payloads, a supervisor policy that reassigns after four minutes of silence instead of waiting, authority tiers enforced in the tool layer rather than in prompts, canary steps of 1% → 5% → 25%, and a kill switch that is tested quarterly because an untested one is a rumor. Bracketed fields are yours to fill; the rules and thresholds you don't replace are the defaults the source argues for. The book's worked examples come from fictionalized companies, and the figures carried into the templates are the book's own stated values, kept as defaults you can recalibrate — patterns to adopt, not guarantees about your system.

### Who this is for
AI platform and agent engineers, solutions architects, and technical leads who are moving from a single working agent to a team of agents that has to survive production — coordination failures, token bills, security review, and 3 AM incidents included. If your lone agent has started to strain, start at Template 1.
### What this pack is not
- **No A2A wire specification.** The book teaches A2A's concepts — agent cards, task lifecycle states, artifacts — and when to adopt the protocol. Templates 7–8 are design artifacts at that depth; no endpoint definitions, message schemas, or conformance claims are included.
- **No framework code or SDK configuration.** The book names no agent framework and ships no code library. A handful of the book's own short pseudocode sketches (the supervisor loop, the deadline wrapper, the span and governor skeletons, two schema sketches) are reproduced at the book's fidelity; everything else is design and operating discipline.
- **No negotiation or agent-economy templates.** The source treats agent negotiation, mechanism design for open markets, and agent-to-agent commerce as research frontiers that are not production-ready; internal auction-based task allocation (Template 17) is covered, open agent commerce is not.
- **No MCP server build.** MCP appears as one coordination option — an invocation channel for bounded, function-like skills — with its limits stated. MCP implementation templates live in the companion MCP Architecture Templates pack.
- **No vendor comparisons or benchmarks.** Infrastructure templates carry the book's decision options and selection criteria; they score no named products.
- **No compliance certification or legal instruments.** The audit and compliance templates map SOC 2 and GDPR obligations to agent-team controls as readiness discipline; nothing here is a certification claim or legal advice.
- **No measured-results promises.** The thresholds and figures in the templates are the book's stated defaults from its fictionalized production cases — recalibrate them against your own telemetry.
### Companion products
The **MCP Architecture Templates** pack holds the tool-protocol engineering this pack invokes agents through; the **RAG Architecture Templates** pack holds the knowledge layer a team's shared memory grounds on; the **Enterprise AI Adoption Checklist** runs the program that takes agent teams across a company. This pack is the team-architecture layer those systems compose into.
*Note: the $99 Architecture Templates Bundle currently contains Products #1–#3 only and no bundle inclusion is promised for this product.*
Built by the author of **Multi-Agent Systems in Production**, from the coordination, failure, and operations discipline behind production agent teams.
