Writing Wednesday Packet: Personal Narrative Writing Routine

This is the Writing Wednesday packet from my Fairy Tales and Personal Narrative unit sold as a standalone. If you already have a narrative unit or just need a weekly writing routine, this is for you.

Students keep one packet for the entire unit and add to it every Wednesday. By the end they have a complete personal narrative written in their own voice, one session at a time. No overwhelm, just consistent progress.

What is inside: 8 structured sessions that walk students from brainstorming all the way through a typed final draft. Each session includes a review of key concepts, guided questions, a language toolkit, sentence starters, and a writing space. A full annotated example narrative is included so students always have a model.

Sessions cover brainstorm, plot diagram planning, exposition draft, rising action and climax, falling action and resolution, self-edit with checklist, handwritten final draft, and typed final submission.

Works best alongside a narrative or fairy tale unit but can be used with any text.
