Deep within the sun-drenched valleys of Yamae Village in Kumamoto, a legendary harvest is born. Here, cradled by Kyushu’s mineral-rich soils and crisp mountain air, grow the prized Yamae chestnuts, massive, naturally sweet gems so exquisite they were once strictly reserved as tributes for Emperors and Shoguns. At Itabashi, we honor this imperial heritage by selecting only the finest of these historic chestnuts at the peak of their autumn sweetness.
To capture their soul, we freshly bake the chestnuts over an open flame, deeply caramelizing their natural sugars to unlock a warm, smoky aroma before slowly simmering them into a velvety spread. The result is our Premium Yamae Kuri Jam: a decadent, buttery masterpiece that delivers the deep warmth of a Japanese autumn in every spoonful.
