Free Introduction — Why Do They Kill in the Name of God?

On the evening of September 11, 2001, 

I sat in front of my television in Bratislava.

I was a violent crime investigator with 

twenty-five years of experience. I knew why 

people kill — for money, for power, for revenge.

But in the name of God?

For the first time in my career, 

I had no answer.

My children were sleeping in their beds upstairs.

And I realized — I wouldn't know how 

to explain it to them either.

Four years later, I enrolled at a 

Faculty of Theology.

This is the first chapter of what I found.
