Custom SteamRM Library Syncer is a focused Windows setup utility for players who run Steam ROM Manager on a main gaming PC and use Steam Remote Play from a second PC.

Install and run the utility on the receiving client PC—the PC whose Steam library organization needs to be updated. The main gaming PC is the source only. The client reads the host metadata through a mapped network share and updates its own local Steam user config.

On the client PC, use the setup window to detect its Steam installation and user ID, choose the mapped drive that points to the host Steam user config folder, validate the required files, and deploy an automatic Windows startup routine.

At startup, the routine waits for the mapped host share, closes Steam to prevent file locks, stages the exact metadata payload, backs up the client's related files, installs the staged metadata, removes two client-side shortcut caches, and relaunches Steam in silent mode. If installation fails, it restores the previous client metadata and restarts Steam.

EXACT SYNC PAYLOAD

• Copies cloudstorage\*.json from the mapped host config folder.

• Copies the host localconfig.vdf file.

• Deletes the client's config\shortcuts.vdf cache.

• Deletes the client's 7\remote\sharedconfig.vdf cache.

• Does not copy PNG or JPG images, grid artwork, games, ROMs, or the entire Steam folder.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Windows 10 or Windows 11 on a 64-bit Intel/AMD (x64) PC; Steam on both PCs; Steam ROM Manager configured on the host; and the host Steam user config folder shared over the local network and mapped to a drive letter on the client.

Testing scope: Custom SteamRM Library Syncer has only been tested with both PCs signed in to the same Steam account. Setups using different Steam accounts have not been tested and are not currently guaranteed.

Installation location: install and run the program on the receiving client PC, not on the host source PC.

Not compatible with 32-bit Windows. This is not a native ARM64 build. The utility synchronizes organization metadata only—it does not transfer or install games or ROMs.
