The Unmarked Ground

The Unmarked Ground is one continuous book, printed as three accounts — Narayana, Silvanus, Elena — of a single night the river rose past anything the household at Ctesiphon had seen it rise. All three of them are inside it, in the same compound, across the same hours. One event. Three accounts. Zero transfer of understanding between them. None of the three ever narrates to the others what they privately went through. There is no fourth account, no reunion scene, no comparison of notes. The book's structure does not contain a place for one.

This is the least expensive way into the world of The Symbolic Library that isn't the free sample.
