Welcome to Armed Research Facility - Echo — the originators of ACF - ARES and NIKOLAI bring the most technically ambitious, painstakingly crafted SCP roleplay experience ever built on the Roblox platform. Developed entirely in-house by Xipher®, this is not a free model map. This is not a reskin. There are no borrowed assets, no recycled scripts, no shortcuts. Every single model was built from scratch in Blender or Studio. Every single line of code was written by us. What you are stepping into is a fully original, living, breathing research facility — and it shows in every detail.
🌟 HISTORY-MAKING TECHNOLOGY
Armed Research Facility - Echo holds a landmark distinction: it is the first map on the entire Roblox platform to implement fully volumetric lighting from the ground up using the open-source VOLUMIKA plugin. Light doesn't just illuminate here — it exists. Shafts of light pierce through vents. Atmospheric haze fills the containment corridors. The exterior glows with an eerie, cinematic depth that no other Roblox map has achieved. This alone sets Echo apart from everything that came before it.
Every single texture across the entire facility is fully PBR (Physically Based Rendering) — scratched metal reflects light realistically, concrete absorbs it, glass refracts it. The era of flat, 2D Roblox textures is over. Echo is built for the modern engine, and it looks the part.
🗺️ THE FACILITY — FOUR SECTORS, ENDLESS DEPTH
Echo is divided into four fully realised sectors, each purpose-built and distinct:
Sector 1 & 2 — Containment house the SCPs themselves, designed with atmosphere and tension in mind. Containment cells, blast doors, flickering lights — every corridor is designed to make you feel like something is very, very wrong.
The Personnel Sector is where foundation staff operate — complete with the Medical Department featuring scripted healing devices, the Scientific Department with functional human testing pods and a full laboratory stocked with department uniforms, and the Security Department with scripted morph systems for seamless roleplay.
[REDACTED] — The ISD Sector is the facility's most classified wing, accessible only to ISD personnel. Inside: interrogation rooms, morph rooms, rally points — and if that wasn't enough, a fully functional Stargate teleporter. Yes, really.
The volumetrically lit exterior stretches beyond the facility walls, fully supporting Chaos Insurgency operations and giving outside factions a true battlefield to operate in. Custom-built caves wind into the site from the outside — hand-sculpted, fully detailed, and filled with the kind of environmental storytelling that rewards exploration.
🟠 CLASS D CONTAINMENT — A WORLD WITHIN A WORLD
The Class D Containment Zone is a fully self-contained experience spanning three levels and built to support up to 150 Class D players simultaneously. It is not an afterthought — it is a complete gameplay loop.
Class D players can work the mines to earn money, spend it at custom vendors, and plot their escape. A fully scripted dynamite system lets Class D blow their way out, and treacherous stepping stones through the caves offer a perilous path to the outside — and freedom with the Chaos Insurgency. The escape fantasy is real, and the path to it is earned.
Custom CDC-specific alarms trigger when things go wrong in the containment zone, with a dedicated Class D control room giving foundation staff the tools to manage and respond to breaches. Every alarm is not just a UI popup — it is broadcast procedurally through physical speakers placed throughout the facility, heard in real-time across the map. TVs mounted throughout the site display the same alerts, reinforcing immersion at every turn.
👾 THE SCPs — CUSTOM BUILT, CUSTOM SCRIPTED
Every SCP in Armed Research Facility - Echo was modelled from scratch in Blender and scripted entirely from the ground up. No SCP here is a re-used asset or a reskin of a free model. Contained within Echo's walls you will find:

Each SCP operates on a fully custom actor system featuring two unique abilities and custom charge-up mechanics, giving SCP players a genuinely tactical and engaging experience that goes far beyond simply chasing people down corridors.
🎮 SYSTEMS THAT CHANGE THE GAME
Over-The-Shoulder Gun System — A fully custom-built, over-the-shoulder shooting system with custom animations baked in. Setup is straightforward and documentation-friendly.
Custom Morph System — Every department morph is fully custom modelled and delivered through a bespoke scripted morph giver. No generic character swaps here.
Custom Elevator System — Fully scripted elevators with custom-built elevator models, seamlessly connecting the facility's floors with the polish they deserve.
The Vending Machine — This alone deserves its own mention. The grabber arm inside the machine physically interacts with each individual can, gripping it and dropping it out in real time. Drinks dispensed apply unique screen overlays and buffs to the player — the blue drink grants a speed boost, and other drinks carry their own effects. Once finished, empty cans are scripted to be recyclable, with players able to deposit them into recycling bins. The level of detail here is unprecedented for a Roblox map.
Tesla Gate System — A fully custom-modelled Tesla gate, powered by a physical control box with individual switches and buttons — every component built in Blender. Operators control it manually. It crackles. It kills. It looks incredible.
The Mop System — Stains and puddles appear dynamically on facility floors. Janitors pick up a mop, clean them up, and earn in-game money for doing so. It is the kind of detail that makes a world feel lived in.
Alarm System — Site-wide and CDC-specific alarms operate through a fully custom alarm system, with dedicated control rooms for both the main site and the Class D zone. Alerts are broadcast procedurally through speakers and displayed on TVs across the map — you will hear when something has gone wrong.
Nametag System — Custom in-game nametags for clean, immersive roleplay.
Custom Keycard Textures — Bespoke keycard designs for every clearance level, adding a layer of visual authenticity that most maps completely overlook.
🏆 WHY ECHO IS DIFFERENT
Most Roblox SCP maps are assembled. Echo was built.
