A Vital Odyssey - Living within a living world (Poësia)
Can the beauty of nature, the emotions, and the existential questions that arouse sometimes when we contemplate the starry sky or explore an ancient forest or an ocean shore revive the intimate bond that unites humans to their natural environment? This essay, illustrated with fine art photos by the author, answers affirmatively these questions in two ways.
Firstly, from the perspective of a sensitive being who crosses a natural world that amazes him and in which he rediscovers his primordial roots, his ecological belonging, and the language to bear witness to it. In his eyes, the Earth becomes Poësia. This initiatory story forms the subject of the first part of the book.
But one thing is obvious to him from the outset: the emerging environmental crisis is shaking our certainties of the past and questioning our way of inhabiting the Earth. It poses an existential question for future generations. So, he asks himself, how and why did we get here?
At the end of a reflection that calls upon history, philosophy, and science, he concludes that living in a world of interdependent beings involves ethical requirements that a so-called superior species cannot ignore in the face of other living things and their common habitat.
