Flip Top Booties feature classic, plain garter stitch feet and a contrasting double-layer turn-back stocking stitch cuff. They are stylish but also practical, as the extra structure at the ankle ensures that the booties will stay on kicking little feet, without the use of uncomfortable ties.
Instructions are included for both plain and striped booties.
The booties are constructed in a novel way. Each bootie is knitted in one piece in the round from the toe and has two very small seams – one at the toe and the other at the back of the heel. Instructions for plain booties as well as the striped version are included. Suitable for a reasonably experienced knitter.
The pattern includes three sizes: Newborn – 3 months, 3 - 6 months and 6 - 9 months. The pattern is suitable for sport weight or a light DK weight yarn. The featured booties were knitted in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino (55% wool, 33% acrylic, 12% cashmere, 125m/50g ball).
