In this VR-integrated unit, students begin as explorers of real 360° ecosystems and finish as makers, coding their own interactive biome and pitching an evidence-based action tied to a UN Sustainable Development Goal. Students will:
- Define biomes by climate, soil, vegetation and productivity
- Model food webs and matter/energy flow, and predict the impact of changing conditions
- Analyse how humans alter biomes for food and fibre, and the challenges to food security
- Build an interactive biome in Delightex using drag-and-drop CoBlocks coding
- Pitch a sustainability recommendation linked to a specific SDG target
