Window Cleaning Pricing And Route Density
Twenty minutes between stops instead of five turns a $600 day into a $343 day — same prices, same work, 10 fewer stops.
Your floor rate, derived
A price copied from what others charge says nothing about your own costs.
This starts from what your year actually needs: $44,000 of take-home
income, $11,800 of overhead across the items listed, tax on
profit, and the share of your hours that are genuinely billable
(66% here, and the kit explains why not more).
That gives a floor of $54.09 an hour across 1,303 billable hours. Every step is printed so you can substitute your own
numbers — there is a blank worksheet for exactly that.
The drive between stops decides the day
Fifteen-minute cleans at $25 a stop. Five minutes of driving between them fits 24.0 stops and bills $600 a day. Thirty minutes of driving fits 10.7 and bills $266.67. Same prices, same hours, same work — the map is doing all of it.
And frequency wins on yearly billing: a $25 storefront every two weeks bills $650 a year against $400 for a $400 house done once. Per hour is a different question — counting the drive to each visit, the one-off pays more once the drive passes 4 minutes, so frequency pays per hour only on a dense route. Includes a per-pane rate card with height and Georgian (per small pane) multipliers, the minimum-charge arithmetic, and eight scripts for quoting, frequency and route-wide price rises.
8 client scripts
Each one carries a line explaining why it is worded that way, because
a script you do not understand is one you will not send. Placeholders are in
[BRACKETS] so nothing goes out in someone else's words.
- Quoting a house you have only seen from the street
- The customer who wants just the front windows
- Explaining why upper-floor panes cost more
- Moving a one-off customer onto the route
- The Georgian windows nobody counted
- A customer who skips every other visit
- Declining a job outside your route
- Raising prices across a whole route
What this is not
These numbers are not a market price. They are arithmetic
about you — what your income target requires. They do not tell you what your
market will pay. If the number is far above what your market bears, that is real
information: something has to move, and quietly working below the floor is the
one option that cannot last.
These are scripts, not contracts, and nothing here is legal
or tax advice. No script threatens statutory interest, collections or legal
action — whether any of those is available to you depends on your contract and
jurisdiction. The 25% tax figure is a placeholder; ask your accountant for
yours.
Honest about the format
A printable PDF, not a physical product and not an editable file. One US
