Let God Drive: A Scripture-Based Journey Of Trust, Truth, & Transformation
Trusting God is a cornerstone of having a relationship with Him.
I’ve learned it’s nowhere near an easy thing to do. This is especially true when challenging and unexpected circumstances arise, such as financial hardship, heartbreak, or loss of a loved one. It’s extremely difficult when you’ve experienced past trauma like abuse and abandonment. It’s these types of circumstances that test our faith, trust, and belief in God and His promises the most. And you best believe, the enemy loves to take advantage during these times.
The book of Job teaches us that sometimes God allows even the most righteous people to be afflicted. If you haven’t read the book of Job, I highly recommend it because it perfectly depicts an extreme test of faith, trust, obedience, and love for God. Satan accused Job of only being faithful, obedient, and having love for God because God had blessed and favored Him. God allowed Satan to afflict Job and all areas of His life, including his family, but instructed Him not to kill Job to prove the accusation false, and test Job. Satan happily agreed.
Satan puts Job through it, but Job passes the test, and God rewards him by giving him back everything he lost, multiplied and better than before. God does the same for us when the enemy accuses us. I’ve experienced it myself, many times. To be honest, I’ve been experiencing affliction since I came into this world, and even when I wasn’t with Him, just as He promises, God was with me during it all. That’s an entirely different story, though, and one for another time.
When I’m facing tough times that are seriously testing my faith, trust, and belief in God and the fulfillment of His promises, along with turning to God, I open up His Word and go back to scriptures that remind me of who God is, why He tests us, why it’s better to trust Him, and what He does with it all. I’ve compiled this book of my favorites, in no particular order of importance, to help you find peace, comfort, hope, reassurance, and restoration of faith during difficult times, just as God has for me. Each scripture includes devotional insights, reflection prompts, and a short prayer to help you further.
Keep going. Keep trusting God. He won’t forsake you. He hasn’t forgotten you and never will. He loves you and wants the absolute best for you, if you allow Him to give it to you. I love you and may God bless you abundantly and exceedingly just as He promises!
