The sacrifice of love
The Sacrifice of Love* (within 600 words)
*The Sacrifice of Love* is an epic poetic novel blending romance, betrayal, and war. The story follows a brave princess who hides her royal identity to experience true love and freedom. She befriends a farmer named Tom, a lute player, and later a gang leader, forming an unlikely “freedom army” against a ruthless invading force.
The princess falls deeply in love with Tom, a humble farmer who loves her not for her crown but for her spirit. However, when her father’s kingdom is overthrown by brutal occupiers, she is forced to flee. Betrayed by Tom’s family and later by her own gang leader, she endures capture, humiliation, and near-death. Yet, her courage and strategic brilliance turn her into a legendary warrior.
Using unconventional tactics — boiling oil, trained dogs, a donkey, a monkey, bats, and fire — she leads a peasant revolt. Tom eventually sacrifices himself to save her, alongside the reformed gang leader and a loyal monkey. All three die protecting her. Devastated but resolute, the princess reclaims her kingdom, names her three sons after her fallen heroes, and builds a lasting peace.
The novel celebrates sacrifice, loyalty, and the idea that love transcends class, bloodshed, and betrayal.
