Triangles in Squares - Half Square Triangles, Split HSTs and Hourglass blocks

There are so many fun patchwork units we can make by combining triangles to create squares! But sometimes it can be hard to get the perfect accuracy when piecing them traditionally. This pattern features three of the most popular Triangles in Squares patterns as paper pieced templates.

Create Half Square Triangles (HSTs), Split Half Square Triangles, and Hourglass blocks with ease (and perfect points!!)

To make this versatile, this pattern includes templates to make single goose units and also rows of four geese. Even better, there's a range of 8 sizes included in the templates all the way from tiny 1" squares up to 5" squares (increasing in 1/2" increments.

Template sizes include:

1” square

1 ½” square

2” square

2 ½” square

3 ½” square

4” square

4 ½” square

5” square

Included in the pattern: full sized templates with a quarter inch seam allowance already added. There are no Y-seams in this pattern (or in any of my patterns).

Foundation paper piecing instructions are not included, but you can find tutorials on my website at quietplaydesigns.com. It is recommended that you print the pattern at "Actual Size" and with no scaling. There are also printing hints & tips on my website.
