estrogenesis

estrogenesis is the debut multimedia collection of poetry and design by queer+trans artist Violet Drake. It chronicles the coming of age story about one fragmented child who became her own whole adult. With loving courage and unflinching honesty, themes explored include identity and autonomy, place and femininity, trauma and recovery, intimacy and embodiment, hope and grief, as well as authenticity and community. Her words and images are for anyone who has ever felt like an outsider, marginalized, too queer or trans, constricted by rurality, and/or at odds with themselves. This is a treatise of truth, by a woman whose writing herself into the history of the Atlantic edge.
