While their older brothers shipped out, the Kits Band stayed home and played for the war effort — 200+ concerts, every bond drive, every troop send-off in BC.

In 1950 the band crossed the Atlantic to play Oosterbeek, Holland — the same fields where Canadian soldiers had liberated the town five years earlier. They came home as champions.
