In this Winter Fox Art Lesson, students create a winter-inspired fox using construction paper, oil pastel marks and tempera paint. It is designed for grades 1 to 4.

The mixed media lesson builds creative thinking as students move from one medium to the next, which keeps them engaged right to the end. It is fully planned, with a lesson hook, a themed reading for background knowledge, assessment and reflection pages, step-by-step slides, and a display sign and artist statement templates for a quick hallway display.
