Shinseon - Hero of the time
Korean folk painting
Shinseon is not a transcendent god, but a real person in history who has reached the realm of the god of longevity and immortality through training. It was believed that the paintings depicting the appearance of these immortals did not stop at a simple visual depiction, but contained the power of immortals or immortals in the paintings. Therefore, it was often drawn as a gift to wish for longevity, especially at feasts such as the 60th birthday.
Riding a donkey upside down means resisting the established order, often money and power, and pursuing a free life. Also, reading a book means that you have wisdom.
