This Spring Rain Boot Art Lesson brings spring weather and rainy day fun into your classroom. Students learn to draw colorful rain boots with a step-by-step directed drawing, then use wax resist with watercolor or tempera paint to create a bright spring artwork, adding their own patterns, colors and creative details.

Alongside the art, students explore spring weather through reading comprehension, writing prompts, reflection pages and art critique, so it works as a multi-day art and literacy lesson. It suits classroom teachers, art teachers, homeschool educators and substitute teachers in elementary.
