Lumalog Contrast LUTs for LUMIX
Most of our film-style LUTs are designed with a more linear contrast curve, offering flexibility and a neutral starting point. However, there are times when a stronger, punchier contrast is preferred—especially when emulating negative film or applying LUTs at partial opacity.
For example, if you're using a filmic LUT with linear contrast (slide film inspired), you can blend in a punchier, negative-film feel by pairing it with a contrast curve that lifts the midtones.
In other cases, applying a LUT at low opacity may soften its intended look. While the CineD profile offers consistent color and wide dynamic range, lowering a LUT’s opacity often reveals CineD’s flatter base contrast. To maintain natural contrast, you can layer a contrast-enhancing utility LUT before the filmic LUT, adjusting both opacities to suit your needs.
These utility LUTs are designed to work alongside your camera’s built-in tone map controls—contrast, highlights, and shadows—giving you more precise control over the final luminance curve.
Consider this: If you wish to boost or lower midtones, using contrast, highlights and shadows will not help you, and exposure compensation comes at the expense of crushing your shadows or highlights and wasting dynamic range. Your best option is custom color neutral LUTs such as these.
