The Gauls, the Celtic inhabitants of Iron Age France, descended from the Hallstatt and La Tène cultures of Central Europe. Their society was tribal, and they were often in conflict with neighboring tribes as well as external powers like the Romans, Germanics, and Greeks. The Gauls constructed roundhouses made of wood and thatch. They also built fortified hilltop settlements known as oppida. Their pottery included both wheel-made and hand-crafted ceramics, often adorned with geometric patterns and simple motifs, reflecting a blend of functional and decorative styles.

For this video, I gathered 19 iron age gaulish samples from grand est in france.
