Christmas Dinner Timings Calculator: Cooking Timeline Spreadsheet + Printable

Enter what time you want to eat and each dish's prep, cooking and resting minutes. The spreadsheet works backwards and gives you one timeline for the day, in order, so everything is ready together. It also warns you when two oven dishes need different temperatures at the same time.

★ WHAT YOU GET

• 1 spreadsheet (.xlsx) with 4 tabs: Start here, Setup, Dishes (40 dishes), Timeline (up to 160 steps in time order)

• Dishes: where it cooks (oven, hob, slow cooker, microwave, grill, no cook), oven temperature, prep / cook / rest minutes, and 'ready before serving' (negative for a later course such as dessert)

• Calculated: start prep, start cooking, out / off heat, ready; first job of the day; oven clash warning

• 3-page printable in US Letter and A4: dish worksheet, the day's timeline (7 am–8:30 pm), oven & hob plan by hour

★ COMPATIBILITY

Made for Google Sheets (free Google account; upload the .xlsx to Google Drive, then open it with Google Sheets), Microsoft Excel 2010 or later, and LibreOffice Calc. Formulas were checked for Google Sheets and Excel compatibility (standard functions only, no macros, no add-ins) and tested in LibreOffice Calc. Unzip the download first (double-click on most computers). Best used on a computer or tablet. Enter dates as real dates (e.g. 3/15/2027 or 15/03/2027). Printable PDFs in US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) and A4. Print at home or at a print shop (choose 'Actual size' or 'Fit'). The PDFs are for printing and writing by hand. They are not fillable forms.
