About the artwork

Dutch potters made millions of wall tiles in the 17th century, many painted with a flower vase framed by corner ornaments. This polychrome tile with tulips in a vase was made around 1625–1670. The white glaze is left unstitched, so the design works on white aida like a tile on the wall, and it makes a quick, cheerful project.
