Castlerigg Boot Cuffs and mittens

Simple to knit boot cuffs and matching mittens set, using Dorset buttons to fasten. A quick make as a present, or to jazz up your own boots. The originals were made with a sport weight yarn, but double knit works well for a thicker cuff, and 4ply works well for a more delicate cuff.

Tension: 22 sts x 36 rows over 10cm x 10cm using 4mm needles in stocking stitch, Warrenfield Sock yarn 300m (200 for the cuffs and 100 for the mittens), 6 x 2.6cm Crosswheel Dorset buttons made using the same thread, yarn needle for weaving in ends. Finished cuff will have plenty of stretch so should fit most boot tops. Total length is 23cm, cuff is 12cm.
