+++This is a measure and cut pattern which means that there are NO TEMPLATES to print off and match up- Yay! You need a rotary cutter, ruler and mat and you can cut the pattern pieces straight from the fabric. This is easier than it sounds because the pieces are all simple squares, circles and rectangles.

When you buy this pattern, you have my permission to make this bag to sell- no mass production allowed of course but a few to sell at craft fairs or online, that sort of thing is fine. All I ask is that you credit me as the designer. I wish you all the success in the world with sales!

All measurements are in INCHES.

I love round things. I am not exactly sure why but lighthouses and very old windmills draw my attention and so do round windows. So it was only a matter of time before I came up with a round bag. I am going to show you the niftiest drafting trick ever to get the round shape and this pattern is backed up with a couple of detailed blog posts so that you can see how the top gusset zipper is created and also (due to popular demand) how the bound lining is created. This bag features some pockets and a fully adjustable strap with a buckle – it is about as trendy as it gets. So Berlin!

Pattern Rating: intermediate sewist with some knowledge assumed. Some bag making experience would be an advantage. There is some simple shaping required but there are detailed instructions in the pattern with photos to help you. Also included is a printable label page to help you to keep track of the pieces.

Finished Size: 10” diameter x 3 ¼” deep

Suggested Fabrics: quilting weight cotton, denim, canvas, furnishing fabrics, linen, needle cord

Gather these supplies:
Fabric:
¾ yd. suitable fabric. I am using canvas which is just perfect
¾ yd. cotton fabric for the lining. Quilting weight cotton is best!

Interfacing:
1 yd. style-vil foam interfacing (Vlieseline)
Fat eighth S320 fusible interfacing (Vlieseline)

Everything Else:
10” zipper (#5) for the front zipper pocket*
15 ½” zipper (#5) for the top main zip*
*If using a continuous zipper as i have, remember to cut the zip 1 1/2" longer to allow for the end tapes
1” buckle for the strap
3 rivets for the adjustable strap
5-6 eyelets for the adjustable strap
2x 1” rectangle rings for the strap tabs
Something to decorate the zipper pulls. I love a thin piece of leather or vegan leather but a great quality baker’s twine is nice too.
Fabric glue
Tools to install the metal hardware
Pattern drafting paper (actually any paper will do and you need one 11 ½” square of it), a ruler showing inches, a pencil, eraser and paper scissors.
TIP: we are going to be doing some very simple shaping and some people feel better about using paper rather than working directly onto the fabric. You can then use your pattern as a template.
Coordinating threads for all fabrics and trims
Your usual sewing needs including scissors, markers, and extra feet for your sewing machine (zipper foot for example). You know, the usual stuff!
