Mr. Braswell and Velvet Pen - Dust and Needles Volume 1

Dust & Needles — Volume 1 is a return to the foundation of hip-hop culture.

Produced entirely by Mr. BRASWELL, with live scratches and soul-driven boom bap production, this project pairs raw lyricism from Velvet Pen with the energy of a DJ-led album built from crates, not algorithms.

From the statement-driven “Written in Wax” to the aggressive “Cut Different,” the reflective “Static in the House,” and the label anthem “Hustlaz in the Crates” featuring Outlaw South and Bro Love, the album balances skill, storytelling, and culture.

Every drum knock is intentional.

Every scratch is conversation.

Every verse carries weight.Closing with “Needle Lift (Volume One)” and the bonus extended producer cut “Needle Life,” this project sets the foundation for a series built on longevity, discipline, and respect for the craft.

This isn’t nostalgia.

It’s restoration.
