It was an ordinary day at Westside High when Jake decided to secretly bust out his latest tech gadget - an app that would shrink anyone he pointed his phone at to the size of a bug. Jake was a bit of an oddball, even among his fellow high school students. At 17, he already stood 6'5" tall with a lean, muscular build that made the other boys jealous. But it was Jake's dark obsession with watching tiny people struggle beneath his feet that truly set him apart. He especially enjoyed crushing them under the soles of his size 13 Vans sneakers.

Jake began by surreptitiously scaling down his nerdy classmates one by one. "Pathetic worm," he sneered as scrawny Darren crunched beneath his feet, his pleated khakis disintegrating. Jake made sure to keep his phone hidden, knowing such a powerful "app" shouldn't be discovered. He felt a rush smearing Darren into a gooey stain on the tile hallway.

But Jake's real fun began after school, at the mall food court. He casually scanned the area with his shrink app and reduced a dozen middle-aged men to tiny size. Haha, watch them squirm and scream as I mash them into the floor, Jake thought wickedly to himself. He stomped and ground his heeled boots into the scurrying bodies until nothing was left but crimson smears.

Jake rode an adrenaline high all the way home. He couldn't wait to test out his app on his parents, his most deserving targets yet. His dad Phil was a pompous prick and his mom Shelly an annoying airhead. Perfect candidates to be shrunk down and crushed into oblivion. He'd finally have the whole house to himself.

As Jake sauntered into the foyer brandishing his supercharged iPhone 13 Pro, he froze. There was Shelly, lounging on the couch in her favorite Juicy Couture sweatsuit with her phone. Metallic silver high-heeled platform flip flops were tossed carelessly on the rug. Jake gulped, realizing his shrink app had already scaled down his dad into the carpet. Tiny Phil was running for his life, his khakis disintegrating as he fled her approaching feet.

"Oh my God," Shelly shrieked, "What the hell?!" She began wildly stomping around in a total panic, inadvertently crushing the tiny man under her flip flops with sickening crunches and smears. Jake's eyes bulged as he watched Dad's sticky residue ooze out from under Mom's soles with each haphazard stomp.

He had to act fast before Shelly noticed him and shrunk him too. Jake whipped out his iPhone and fired off the shrink app at his mom. Shelly let out a blood-curdling scream as she rapidly dwindled down, her platform shoes pinning her to the carpet. In seconds, she was miniaturized, immobile and shrieking beneath the immovable silver flip flops that had a moment ago been on her dainty feet.

Jake stood over the squirming bug-sized woman, a sadistic grin spreading across his face. "Stupid old hag, you really thought you could fill Dad's shoes? Silly mommy, that's why I made sure you were the last one I shrunk!" Jake punctuated his words by dragging the toe of his Vans across Shelly's prone body, relishing her agonized wails. He looked forward to spending the weekend tormenting his parents and maybe even crushing them for good. Jake's shrink app was going to ensure he had the whole house, and world, under his feet.
