TUTORIAL: MAKE A LEATHER TOTE BAG (FREE PATTERN)

To make this bag you will need :

Bag pattern : Download/Print the pattern

Raw material and jewelry : 

1X hide or half-hide of cowhide or cowhide leather. For

good hold of the bag, choose thick leather (approximately 2

mm) with rather firm tanning.

2X leather strips 20 mm black collar vegetable tanned 

8X single rivets brass finish size R4

Brown poached thread for hand sewing (optional if you

decide to sew everything by machine)

Amifil machine sewing thread color A1074 (optional if you

decide to sew everything by hand)

Tools : 

2x sheets of thick white paper such as Canson grape format

or special sewing pattern paper same format

1X pencil + eraser to trace the pattern

1X leather sewing machine (optional if you decide to sew

everything by hand)

2X round tip needles size 1/0 (optional if you decide to sew

everything by machine)

A cutting mat

A cutter (classic for angles and ideally rotary for long

lengths)

A large ruler of at least 60 cm, preferably metal

A square, preferably metal

A leather pen or marker

An awl 

 Leather glue 

A spatula (or flat, thin brush) to apply the glue if no tip

A revolver clip 

An installation kit or pliers, press to install the rivets

A striking plate (optional, only for hand sewing)

A claw (comb) to hit (optional, only for hand sewing)

A mallet (optional, only for hand sewing and setting rivets

without a press)

A set of 10 clip pliers for sewing 

Beeswax (optional)

A smoother (optional)
