Magic on the Menu (Digital Item)
Sixty-eight minutes of tableside close-up magic, taught by Carroll Baker.
This comes from many years of working close-up at tables. The video opens with a full set performed tableside in a real restaurant, so you see the material play in the room it was built for. Then I take you into the studio and break down every routine.
It is also the companion video to my ebook Leftovers. Many of the effects from that book are performed here, so you can watch them work before you take them out.
Here is what is taught
Sponge Bunnies
An in-the-hands close-up worker. The perfect effect for both kids and adults, where the magic happens in their hands.
Inflation
You show a normal penny and cover it with a magnifying glass. When you pull the magnifying glass away, the penny has grown to the size of a half dollar. You then change the half-dollar-sized coin into a jumbo penny.
Cheater's Lament
A chosen card is lost in the deck. Four cards are shown to all look like the chosen card. The cards are then turned over, and they all change to the four aces.
Shaken Not Stirred
The four aces from the previous trick are shown face up. You close the packet and flip the cards face up. When you spread the cards, one of the aces has turned face down. You repeat this three more times, and when they think the last card is the Ace of Spades, you flip it face up, and it is their chosen card.
Estimated Thought
A fan of cards is shown, and your helper is asked to think of one of them. You ask a couple of questions and tell them the card they are thinking of. If you miss the card, there are a couple of great outs taught.
Ambitious Card with Card to Wallet Ending
A multiphase card routine with all the details you need to look like a card expert. You finish with one of the greatest endings, the card ending up in a wallet.
Chopped Lemon
An ungimmicked cup and ball routine that ends with two final loads.
Hopping Halves
Two different coins are shown, and they keep returning to your hands after you plainly show them going into your pocket one at a time. At the finish, both coins vanish from your hand completely.
Okito Coin Box Routine
Four coins vanish from your hand, one at a time, and magically end up inside the box with a lid.
Coins Across
Four coins vanish one at a time from your hand and land in a spectator's open hand. The last coin vanishes and reappears in their closed hand.
Leftovers
A prediction is shown and laid on the table. A card is chosen and left face down on the table. The prediction is revealed: you will not pick a joker, and when you turn over their card, it is not a joker. Then you turn over the deck, and it's all jokers.
Run time: 68 minutes.
The book these routines come from is Leftovers, and Second Helpings is the patter companion to it. All three together are $60: https://payhip.com/b/SQo9w
