Murder Mystery ESL Role Play
Looking for an engaging role play? Then how about this Murder Mystery group project that spans multiple lessons. Suitable for adult and teen ESL (EFL) learners. Promotes creative thinking and creativity while improving language skills. It prevents ‘choice paralysis’ many students suffer from by providing key plot elements.
Students must use their creative thinking to link their plot points together. Students then plan their role play and write the dialogue. Finally, the students perform their role plays. Use of props is encouraged. Acting skills may vary!
This is a very popular activity that really engages all students.
Suggested Level: Intermediate - Advanced (CEFR B1 - C1) - Can be used for lower levels with additional support.
Includes:
- 32 Plot cards – No two role plays will be the same.
- Powerpoint quiz for reviewing or pre-teaching key vocabulary related to Murder Mysteries.
