Van Swap Agreement
Want to make sure everyone is clear on what’s actually been agreed before someone drives away in your van?
Van swaps rely on trust, but there are plenty of details that can become assumptions. Who is allowed to drive, where the van can go, mileage limits, who pays for fuel, tolls and fines, what happens if something breaks, and who is responsible for damage are all much easier to deal with when they’re agreed upfront.
The Van Swap Agreement gives both parties a practical place to record those expectations before the swap begins.
Inside you'll find sections covering the people and van involved, the type and dates of the exchange, authorised drivers, geographic and driving restrictions, mileage and usage limits, fuel and running costs, tolls and fines, damage and responsibility, tyres and glass, breakdowns and roadside assistance, accidents and theft, onboard equipment, cleaning and return condition, insurance, cancellation and the terms of the reciprocal exchange.
It can be used for a van-for-van swap, time-separated exchange, a van exchanged for a house, boat or other asset, or an agreed service exchange.
It’s not a vehicle rental contract or a substitute for insurance or legal advice. It’s a practical record of what both parties have agreed.
A reusable agreement for campervan, motorhome and RV owners arranging private swaps and other non-commercial exchanges.
