All wars are the same: people fight, people bleed, people die.

All wars are different. People fight for different causes, in different places, and using different technologies.

Too often today, the soldiers who lived through the wars are as forgotten as those who died. But what happens when a country needs to remember those past wars, and needs to use technology that is as forgotten as the soldiers who dragged it through the mud?

That's what this 11 page science fiction story explores, following 101-year-old veteran Pat Lofton as he struggles with technology he last used when he was young, and memories he thought he had put behind him.

I'm trying an approach titled "Pay What You Want," because I trust my work. I know my stories are good. I also trust people to recognize that quality and pay what they think the story is worth. Also, I know how hard it is to judge new writers, so I want to make it easy for people to try my work.
