The publishing industry has no shortage of companies that will take your money in exchange for very little of value. If you are considering any service that:
◆ Charges you thousands of pounds to 'publish' your book through their imprint
◆ Promises guaranteed distribution, bestseller status, or award nominations for a fee
◆ Calls itself a 'traditional publisher' but asks you to pay upfront costs
◆ Sells expensive 'marketing packages' with vague deliverables
◆ Pressures you to invest more money to 'unlock' results
Please do your research before spending a penny. Resources like the Alliance of Independent Authors (allianceindependentauthors.org) maintain watchdog lists of predatory services. Legitimate traditional publishers do not charge authors. Legitimate self-publishing is low-cost and puts you in control.

About LM Morgan
I'm a self-published dark fantasy author. My series include Blood Slave, Black Rose, Invasion Day, and Elite Guardians (the first book of which, The Phoenix Will Rise, launched in February 2026). I appear at comic conventions and alternative events, I run my own newsletter list, and I've built my author business from scratch while navigating everything in this pack in real time.

Some documents (the Self-Publishing Basics Guide, the Where to Start guide) are specifically aimed at writers who are earlier in their journey. Others (the Series Bible, the Launch Checklist, the Author Tracker) grow with you.
What format are the documents in? All documents are provided as Microsoft Word (.docx) files, compatible with Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice, and Pages. The Author Business Tracker is provided as an Excel (.xlsx) file.
Can I share this with other authors? These documents are for personal use only. They may not be shared, redistributed, resold, or uploaded to any platform for others to access. See the Terms & Conditions below.
