In the grime-choked heart of a twisted harbor city, dockworker Konnor Hadwyn becomes living cargo, delivered to a nightmarish flesh-tannery run by a monstrous genius. His only value: the meat on his bones and a forgotten connection that makes the tannery’s grotesque creations remember him.

When a rival gang’s violent raid throws the compound into chaos, Konnor’s fate becomes entangled with that of his captor, the ruthless smuggler Ragpicker. Bound by a debt of unpaid wages and pursued by branded killers, they must descend into the bowels of a living nightmare. They will cross a floor of fused, twitching torsos, flee through sewers that whisper with reanimated corpses, and parley with a stitched-together ghoul who knows the secret of a tapping pattern written in bone.

But the horrors are not confined to the tannery. Glowing parasites that dissolve flesh, a ghost ship crewed by the nailed-dead, and swarms of intelligent, skittering hands all hunt them under a bruised sky. To survive, Konnor must unravel the mystery of his own past and confront a truth buried in a vault of silver and ledgers: a debt written not in coin, but in blood, memory, and severed fingers.
