The Buddha said to Ananda, "In the past, three very good friends in the same place saw this pile of gold! They were very excited! They were going to divide this batch of gold into three parts! Because they were hungry after a long journey, one of them suggested that two people go down the mountain to find food and one person stay on the mountain to look after this batch of gold! So the two people went down the mountain to find food. At this moment, one of them came up with a bad idea to poison the food and take away the gold of the friend on the mountain. After that, the two of them divided his share of gold equally! After the two decided to go back to the mountain together! At this time, the friend on the mountain also had the evil idea of ​​monopolizing all the gold! He thought that after everyone had eaten and drunk enough and they rested and fell asleep, he would kill the two of them! Under such circumstances, both parties had bad intentions! Sure enough, on the mountain, this friend waited for the two of them to eat and fall asleep, and then killed them one by one! Just when he thought he could enjoy all the wealth alone! He secretly enjoyed the food that the two packed for him, and then he was poisoned to death before going down the mountain! This is why I told you before that gold is a poisonous snake! 佛言阿難；在過去,同样这個地方有三位非常要好的朋友看到了這一堆黃金！他們雀躍萬分！準備把這一批黃金分成三份！由於長途跋涉他們也覺得飢餓了,一人建議两人下山尋找食物一人留在山上看顧這一批黃金！ 就這樣兩人下山去尋找食物,就在此刻其中一人出了坏主意想要在食物中下毒侵佔山上那位朋友的那份黃金,之后兩人平分他的那份黃金！在二人决定了同谋之後回到山上去！这时山上這位朋友也想独佔所有黃金的歪念頭！他心想等大家吃飽喝足後在他們休息睡著之后把他們兩個給殺了！就在這樣的情況下雙方都有不善的預謀！果然在山上這位朋友等他們兩人吃飽睡着後一一給殺了！ 正當他覺得一人可以獨享所有財富！在暗喜之下享用完了兩人為他打包的食物再下山之前中毒身亡！這是我之前告訴大家黃金是毒蛇的原因！希望 大家應引以為戒！
