A marine layer is an air mass that forms over the surface of a large body of water which often creates fog within itself. This cowl is part of a quick to knit coordinating set, inspired by this weather pattern.
Using twisted rib and two complementary colors in “singles” yarn to imitate layers forming over water and fog enclosing fog, these accessories combine visual appeal and textural interest with coziness and warmth.
Materials:
approximately 160 yards (145 meters) in Main Color (MC) and 160 yards (145 meters) in Contrast Color (CC)
Needle size: US 6 - 4.00 mm
Yarn weight: Aran (8 wpi)
Gauge: 30 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches in Twisted Rib
Finished Measurements: 5 1/2 inches (13.75 cm) X 42 inches (105 cm)
