A work task box set in a made up garden centre, for KS4 and post 16 pupils with SEND. Much of garden centre work is reading: plant tags, trays, watering charts and what should come off the shelf.

What pupils practise

Pupils read the sun symbol on a plant tag and match it to the right shelf, count how many pots a tray still needs, read today's row on a watering chart, and spot plants that should not be sold, such as a wilted plant or one with no tag. Picture cards come first, then the reading gets harder.

Good for supported internships, horticulture work experience and Preparing for Adulthood outcomes.
