Four years ago (2016) I designed this and called it “Inauguration Consolation.” I just changed it (2021) to Inauguration Celebration. NOTE - I left the original pattern in there in case anyone thought it would be a jinx to change it too early. They are the same pattern versions (with just a different write up and name.)
It requires about 300 yards of fingering or sport weight of 3 colors.
Difficulty
Designed to be simple with garter, stockinette, slipped stitches and a picot bind off. That’s all! Think of it as election therapy - no complicated lace stitches - just some nice, soothing knitting to calm you down and prevent you from punching anyone.

Note This was designed for the Menage a Trois bundles that are carried by many yarn stores. The sample is made in Silver Fox, Hennessy, and Smoke. You may also knit this with fingering or sport weight yarn on a US 6/4mm. You will need 300 yards of each color in a fingering weight to be safe. It’s also simple to make larger if you have extra yarn.
