Cambridge Colleges Spreadsheet
A spreadsheet designed to help you pick the college best suited to you at the University of Cambridge.
Reviews by real students who used this spreadsheet:
☆ "My saviour"
☆ "Very impressive work"
This spreadsheet has been used by students who have been accepted into the University of Cambridge in 2024 for both STEM and humanities courses.
Contains rows that cover a range of important topics that prospective students tend to forget about when analysing each college, for example: "Distance from Centre [of Cambridge]", "Meal Prices in Each Buttery [Buttery = Cambridge Slang for Cafeteria/Eating-and-Socialising Space]", etc.
Also contains certain gaps for you to fill in (i.e. ones related to course statistics).
Examples of information included on this spreadsheet:
• Whether each college contains a gym (and if use of the gym is free/paid)
• Whether the gym is onsite or not
• Average rent for accommodation
• Contract length for accommodation
This spreadsheet contains 25 rows and all 31 colleges.
It is currently colour-coded as follows:
Green: Positive
Red: Negative
Yellow: Best/Optimal
White: Neutral
Blue: Titles
Feel free to change the colours as you wish!
Disclaimer: this spreadsheet is tailored to prospective undergraduates only, so the spreadsheet excludes information about mature-only colleges (Hughes Hall, St Edmund's College and Wolfson College) and postgraduate-only colleges.
Updated in October 2024.
I used a range of sources for this information, including information I found during Open Days at the University of Cambridge and conversations with current students, but it is up to you to keep it up-to-date :)
