Booksie & E-Booksie PDF Sewing Pattern (3 Sizes)
Thank you for choosing the Booksie and E-Booksie Book Sleeves.
These are simple projects suitable for beginner sewists. Booksie is a book sleeve suitable for most standard paperback books up to an approximate size of 6” (15.2cm) wide, 9.25” (23.5cm) tall, and 1.5” (4cm) deep, E-Booksie Medio is a sleeve suitable for e-reader tablets up to an approximate size of 6" (15.2cm) wide, 8.5" (21.6cm) tall, and 0.5" (1.2cm) deep inclusive of any cases, and will also hold a small early reader sized childs paperback, and E-Booksie Mini is a sleeve suitable for e-reader tablets up to an approximate size of 5" (12.7cm) wide, 7" (17.8cm) tall, and 0.5" (1.2cm) deep inclusive of any cases. All three versions have three options for the exterior front and back panels, making them an excellent scrapbusting project. You can choose the same panels for your front and back, or mix and match. The Booksies can either have a stylish top flap closure secured with 2 kam snaps, or use a piece of elastic (an elastic hair tie works well!) and a button, or simply be a sleeve with no top closure at all. You can substitute magnetic snaps/your preferred closure for the kam snaps at your preference.
The Booksies can be made in a variety of fabric bases, including woven cotton, canvas and vinyl.
I recommend interfacing all woven and canvas exterior pieces in full using a lightweight woven interfacing. Pieces are also included for using an optional fusible foam or fleece on this project if you wish to add a little extra padding to your book sleeve
