The Squeeze and Melt — A guided progressive muscle relaxation (5 minutes)
Using playful imagery — robot legs, lemon squeezing, turtle shoulders — children learn to tense and release each muscle group, building a felt sense of what calm feels like in the body. Includes a conditioned relaxation cue for long-term use.
Belly Breathing — The balloon breathing technique (~3 minutes)
Teaches diaphragmatic breathing using the balloon metaphor — accessible, memorable, and clinically effective. Belly breathing helps the Brake catch up so it can do its job of slowing things down.
My Guided Safe Place — Guided calm imagery (~5 minutes)
A multi-sensory guided journey to a child's own imagined safe space. Builds an internal resource they can return to independently. Gently paced and deeply settling.
