Caption Check: offline edition

Check SRT and VTT files without an internet connection.

Caption Check is a standalone subtitle checker for your desktop browser. Its cue timeline opens findings beside the original timestamps and text.

It checks timing and format errors, overlapping cues, reading speed and long lines. Your subtitle files stay unchanged.

The current download is caption-check-0.3.zip. It includes the checker, a short guide, source code and licences. Earlier versions remain available.

Check up to 10 UTF-8 files at a time, up to 2 MiB each. Save an HTML report or JSON findings. The source and licences allow personal and commercial use.

£5 once, with no recurring charge. The paid download has the same checks as the free web version; it packages them for offline use and supports development.

Warnings need your judgement. Audio alignment, translation quality and platform approval require separate review. Check findings against your delivery requirements.
