Riders Of The Contest

At a remote military base, monotony rules the days. Three soldiers, tired of the daily routine and the lack of anything to do, come up with an idea to entertain themselves. As a joke, they organize a drinking contest, similar to the ones at parties, but in their own military style. They throw some money into a shared pot symbolic prize meant to add a bit of excitement to the competition. They start lightly, laughing at their own ideas and making up rules as they go. Each round becomes more energetic, and the atmosphere grows more relaxed. There’s no audience, no official structure just the three of them and their spontaneous contest meant to chase away boredom. Eventually, the pace of the game becomes more than they expected. It's getting hot and their uniforms are starting to bother them, so they take them off. The first soldier lifts her glass, tries to drink, but gives up and slides to the side. The other two take her share of the money and continue. After a moment, the second one also can’t keep up she drinks, staggers, and drops out, leaving her part of the pot to the last remaining player. Only one is left. She drinks her final glass, triumphs, and takes the entire sum… then starts to sway, sits down heavily, and falls asleep with the money still in her hand. Their spontaneous attempt to escape boredom ends with three sleeping soldiers and an empty glass on the table.
