AGEISM has become a dirty word. In many cases, opportunities cease once we reach a certain age. Regardless of what our birth certificate says, we’re really only as old as we feel! But what happens when we feel twenty-something and we receive constant reminders that we’re just too old to participate? In a youth-driven society, age has become a factor for both sexes, but the limitations it creates for women can be crippling. This has been going on for centuries; don't you think it’s time to put a stop to it? The May/June 2018 Issue #5 is all about women and ageism. Inside these pages are interviews, articles, and fashion, featuring “women of a certain age.” Isabella Rossellini is back with Lancôme. Read her story, “Isabella Rossellini: Her Fall from Grace, Only to Rise Renewed.”

Our beautiful cover model is Ming-Na Wen. She is a veteran in the entertainment industry, a longstanding player in the world of action heroines, and an advocator of strong female characters. In her interview, she talks about her career and her journey to becoming the actress she is today. Agenda is proud to be an official sponsor of the Artemis Women In Action Film Festival and interviews the film festival director Melanie Wise. Sheryl Aronson of “Arting Around” interviews Pat Prescott of 94.7 The WAVE. This radio host has been breaking barriers for women DJs for 40 years. Also, check out the opinion piece, “Mature Models Make Their Mark: Eradicating Ageism on the Runways.”

Our beauty section is filled with wonderful tips and tricks with the articles “Deep Water Beauty,” “Sweat & Skin Health,” (and recovering from a night of indulgence), “Wreck and Recovery” by beauty editor Shahada Karim. As always, our pages are filled with eye-popping fashion and photography. Arun Nevader photographs Vancouver Fashion Week and Spring/Summer 2018 collections can be found all throughout this issue. Kaylene Peoples's Fashion Talk explores the A-line dress and other figure-flattering silhouettes, followed by a selection of runway images to help you decide which A-line fashion looks best on you.

“Profiles” by photographer Glenn Gordon features model Ryan Suzukawa, combining imagery with “words of wisdom” from great thinkers of our time. We take a look at a special team member of the 838 Media Group Apeksha Agarwal, titled “Spotlight on Photography.” This is an insightful look into of Apeksha’s travels and education, as well as her passion for photography. And our newest fresh face is Guetcha. She is an exotic beauty with a range. This is evident in her diverse, provocative fashion spread. And lastly, the Fashion Archives features Ralph Lauren and Avant-garde designers Manish Arora and Gareth Pugh. As always, enjoy your stay here inside our 5th issue . . . and remember—whatever you do, do it with style!
