Vostok-1 Crew Capsule

The Vostok 1 (East) was the Soviet Unions capsule designed to launch the first man into space. This capsule was launched on April 12, 1961 with Yuri Gagarin on board who completed the first orbit around the Earth. It was launched from a modified R-7 rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome and will forever cement the Soviet Unions achievement for the space race.
