I shared this design with my husband and asked him to brainstorm pattern names with me. Our conversation went something like this:

“How about inward?”

“Inward? How does that make sense? The lines are angled outward.”

“Oh, I guess that works too. It’s all a bit subjective.”

I still haven’t decided if the patterning is angled inward or outward, but I’m pretty sure SUBJECTIVE MITTS captures the spirit of this design. Like many designs in my portfolio, these mitts can be worn on either hand and look equally pleasing with either side facing out (provided you’ve done a tidy job of weaving in those ends!). Designed for a single skein of worsted weight yarn, these mitts use knit and purl stitches to create a pleasing pattern and make a wonderful gift. The pair is totally identical—no right or left mitts to fuss about—and the pattern has 1 child size and 2 adult sizes. Tubular cast-on and bind-off edges create smooth and professional finishes. Pattern is both written and charted.
