Clem Collins—don’t call her Clementine—is ex-Army and just wants a little R&R while she and her friends work on her dream home: a cabin deep in the woods.

But then one day her dog Lizzie the pit bull comes back from a romp in the woods and drops a strange, stinking object in Clem’s lap. The big lump proceeds to wiggle and split and what looks like a tiny dinosaur spills out. Tracing Lizzie’s steps back deep into the woods, Clem discovers a weird glowing dome. Lizzie rushes at the dome and, to Clem’s amazement, disappears into it.

Of course Clem follows her dog—wouldn’t you? Inside the silvery dome Clem discovers a floating orb. And inside the orb is another world.

How could Clem possibly know that the strange orb could very well be the beginning of the end of all life on Earth?
